Uttarakhand / Kotdwar : A NGO Project Help India has taken the responsibility of sanitizing the City on its shoulders, The Government should come forward to help
India’s second wave of Covid-19 is causing unprecedented devastation. The country which was reporting less than 15,000 cases a day just last month, documented nearly 400,000 cases just yesterday. The official death count has reached 3500 per day and even more, and will likely to rise in the coming weeks.
The current wave started in many parts of the country has now engulfed the entire country. The health system is extremely stressed across the nation and collapsing in some areas. A critical shortage of ICU beds, oxygen supply, and even cremation grounds is compounding the tragedy.
In a crisis of this magnitude, local knowledge counts. We have initiated spraying at high-level surface to kill the virus at vulnerable places in the city. We have initiated spraying from Slums.
Public places play a vital role in the social life of communities. Ever since COVID-19 outbreak was declared as global pandemic, Project Help India have been making significant efforts in sanitising the local areas, which are considered risk prone areas for local spread of virus
Sanitiser is being sprayed in all corners of the area to keep it safe from any kind of infection. COVID-19 is an acute respiratory disease caused by a virus transmitted in most instances through respiratory droplets, direct contact with cases and also through contaminated surfaces or objects. Though the virus survives on environmental surface for varied period of time, it gets easily inactivated by chemical disinfectants.
Today when the local municipality is getting fail to sanitise the whole city at least once a week. It is only sanitising the market place, but the need of common people is to let the whole city get sanitised. Now only Project Help India took the initiative to do so, therefore every day the team of Project Help India is choosing a area to get sanitised. We are reaching every place where others are not even thinking of.
As you know that India is suffering from the curse of Corona virus spread daily, to contain the spread of the virus and flatten the curve, the crucial step is to maintain the required hygiene standards. A large section of the country, vulnerable and downtrodden communities have little or no access to the sanitation standards and amenities required to prevent Coronavirus. We are creating awareness to use mask, pursue cleanliness habits like washing hands frequently and by maintaining social distancing to avoid community transmission of virus . Project Help India has so far covered many areas. People are contacting us and getting their area sanitised.
Project help India is working with nine centres in three different places including one specially abled kids Centre. We are working at Uttarakhand in Kotdwar at Uttar Pradesh in Bijnor and in Punjab and Chandigarh. These all centres are responding to the current crisis and doing the same.
