Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today flagged off a consignment of two trucks of life saving equipment donated by Shimla from the virtual medium to the state by Sonika Parashar, Managing Director of VR Maritime Services Private Limited and Captain Sanjay Parashar.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister thanked Captain Sonika Parashar and Captain Sanjay Parashar for this philanthropic work. He said that this contribution will help the state government in fighting the COVID-19 epidemic in the state. He said that many philanthropists have come forward to help the state government in providing better services to the society.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government is giving special emphasis on capacity building to fight this epidemic. He said that the government has been successful in increasing the bed capacity in health institutions to about 5000 which was earlier 1200. He said that the government has increased the quota of oxygen for the state from 15 metric tons to 30 metric tons and now the government has requested the central government to increase it to 40 metric tons.
The Chief Minister said that the government has increased the availability of D-type cylinders from 2500 to 6000 in the state and increased the storage capacity of oxygen to 25 metric tons. He said that similarly the number of available ventilators in the state has been increased from about 50 to 600. He said that efforts are being made to increase bed capacity in Una district so that the needs of patients can be met. He said that an additional 180-bed capacity was being constructed at Pandoga which would be completed within a week.
He said that 1800 patients are in home isolation in the district, so better arrangements are needed for the speedy recovery of these patients.
Jai Ram Thakur appreciated the support given by Arogya Bharati and Seva Bharati in the fight against the corona epidemic. He thanked him for the support given by Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur to deal with the current situation in the state.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virendra Kanwar said that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, the state is fighting this epidemic effectively. He urged people to come forward to help fight the Corona epidemic.
Welcoming the Chief Minister, Deputy Commissioner Una Raghav Sharma apprised him of the status of COVID in Una district.
we are. Managing Director of Maritime Services Private Limited, Capt. Sanjay Parashar said that this is the second consignment of life saving material that he has sent to district Kangra and Una. He said that in this consignment 1500 oximeters, 25 oxygen concentrators, 3200 PPE. Kit, 500 face shield, 10 oxygen cylinders, 15000 safety gloves, 1000 N-95 and 1000 NRB. Masks, 20000 surgical masks, 1600 liter sanitizers and other immunity enhancing drugs are included.
Dr. Dr. Arogya Bharti Hemraj also shared his thoughts on the occasion.
Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj from Shimla while Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur and MLA Balbir Chaudhary joined in the virtual medium on the occasion and Satpal Satti, President of Sixth State Finance Commission was also present on the occasion from Una.
