The remaining matches of IPL-14 will be played in UAE, tournament will be held in September-October

The remaining matches of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played in the UAE. This decision was taken at the Special General Meeting (SGM) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) held on Saturday. The tournament will be held in September-October.

31 matches of the 14th edition of the IPL are yet to be played. All these matches will be held in UAE. Although the date has not been announced by the BCCI. IPL-14 was postponed to May 4 after Corona’s case surfaced in several teams. Till May 2, a total of 29 matches were played.

Till IPL-14 is postponed, Delhi Capitals are in first place with 6 wins in 8 matches. While Chennai Super Kings is second with 5 matches won. RCB, captained by Virat Kohli, has also won 5 matches and is in third place.

According to a press release issued by the BCCI, in view of the monsoon in India in September-October, it has been decided to conduct the remaining matches of IPL-14 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This decision was taken at the Special General Meeting (SGM), where the members unanimously agreed to resume the IPL.

The IPL is expected to resume between September 18 and 20 and end on October 10. 4 play-off matches (two qualifiers, one eliminator), including the final, plus 10 double-headers (two matches a day) and 7 single headers (one match a day) are expected.

UAE has hosted IPL-13

Last year the UAE successfully hosted the 13th season of the IPL. There are three major stadiums in the UAE. Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi), Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
