Uttar Pradesh: First and second year college students will be promoted, final year exams will be held in August
In Uttar Pradesh, the examinations of college students for 2021 have been cancelled. The state government has decided to promote around 30 lakh undergraduate and postgraduate students. Undergraduate first and second year students and postgraduate first year students will be promoted without examination. At the same time, examinations will be conducted for the final year students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The examinations for the final year students will be held in August. This announcement has been made by the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr Dinesh Sharma.
However, the important thing is that due to the havoc of the Corona epidemic in many universities in 2020 due to the lockdown, the first year undergraduate examinations were not conducted in the last session. The examinees were promoted by such universities to the second year without examination. In these universities, now the examination of second year undergraduate students will also be conducted.
The three-member committee prepared the report
Significantly, the committee of three Vice-Chancellors has prepared a roadmap for the promotion of first and second year students in universities and colleges. The committee included Professor Vinay Pathak, Vice Chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur, Professor Alok Kumar Rai, Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, Professor Krishnapal Singh, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly.
Graduation will not be done with one year exam
The committee prepared the report on UP College Examination 2021 after consultation with the Vice Chancellors of other universities and other stakeholders. As per the report, the first year marks should be determined on the basis of second year exam marks. This will be done so that students do not pass graduation by taking only one year of UP College Examination 2021. Because, the examinations of 2020 and 2021 have not been held in most of the places. In such a situation, the students could pass by giving only one year examination.
Permission to decide the format of the exam is possible
In its suggestion, the committee also said that universities should be allowed to decide the format of UP College Examination 2021 for final year students at their own level. The marks of first year students will be determined on the basis of marks of second year examination. However, for more details regarding College Exams 2021, students must get information from their respective colleges and universities.
