Former Bengal cricketer Rabi Banerjee passes away
Kolkata : Former Bengal cricketer Rabi Banerjee, who led West Bengal in various first-class domestic tournaments, passed away. He was 72 years old and had been ill for a long time.
He leaves behind his wife and two sons. He had recovered from corona a few days back, but was again admitted to the hospital due to heart-related complications. He breathed his last early today. He was also a dialysis patient. Before the last rites, his body has been taken to his ancestral residence Beliaghat.
Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Abhishek Dalmiya condoled the death of the former cricketer and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members on behalf of the association. In the memory of his departed soul, the Sangh kept its flag at half-mast.
It is noteworthy that the late Rabi Banerjee represented Bengal 10 times between 1969-70 and 1974-75.
