CM Tirath met Union Panchayati Raj, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar
Chief Minister Shri Tirath Singh Rawat called on Union Minister of Panchayati Raj, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Rural Development Shri Narendra Singh Tomar in New Delhi. The Chief Minister requested to increase the grant permissible in the State Integrated Cooperative Development Project, assisted by the National Cooperative Development Corporation and subsidized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, from 20 per cent to 40 per cent for Himalayan and North-Eastern states. The Chief Minister said that the state government is making serious efforts to make Uttarakhand an organic state. Under Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana, 10 thousand organic clusters were allowed in the state. The works related to organic farming have been completed in 3900 clusters allotted in the first phase. Due to which about 78 thousand hectare agricultural land has been brought under organic and the income of 1.5 lakh farmers has increased. The Chief Minister requested the Union Minister to allot the remaining 6100 clusters against approval to give a concrete shape to the concept of organic state. The Chief Minister said that the State was given permission by the Central Government to distribute Truthful Seeds (TL Seeds) on grant under the Food Security Mission. In order to allow grant on seeds in hilly areas of Uttarakhand and to ensure availability of quality seeds, in the year 2021-22 also, the Chief Minister urged the Union Minister to give grant equivalent to certified seeds on truthful seeds. The Chief Minister said that under the National Horticulture Mission Scheme, an additional action plan for the year 2021-22 with an outlay of Rs 280 crore has been prepared for the strengthening of the state sector. It has to be approved by the Centre. The Chief Minister requested the Union Minister to allocate the target of 16472 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin Gram Panchayat wise and category wise ‘Awas Soft’. Union Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar assured the Chief Minister of all possible cooperation from his ministry. Chief Secretary Shri Om Prakash, Secretary Smt. Radhika Jha, Shri Shailesh Bagoli and other officers were present on this occasion.
