Xiaomi J18S foldable smartphone may launch in the fourth quarter

Smartphone maker Xiaomi had unveiled the Mi MIX Fold as its first foldable smartphone in late March. Now this company is planning to launch its second foldable codename J18S smartphone in the fourth quarter. The handset will feature an inward folding display and both the interior, as well as the outer panels, will offer a stunning image.
It is being said that the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and will house a 5,000 mAh battery.

As per a previous post by Digital Chat Station, the internal screen of the Xiaomi J18S supplied by Samsung Display will have a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone will have 90Hz refresh rate in the outer panel provided by Visionox along with under-display camera solution.

As for optics, the device is said to feature a 108MP primary sensor, an unidentified sensor with 3X liquid lens, and an ultra-wide unit.
The report states that the second foldable smartphone from Xiaomi will be similar to the first model, with minor differences.

The Mi MIX Fold sports an 8.01-inch WQHD(Wide Quad High Definition) plus resolution flexible internal display and a 6.52-inch AMOLED display as the front screen that offers 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate and HD+ resolution.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and 5020mAh battery and 67W turbo charging support.

The device boasts even more firsts, featuring the introduction of Xiaomi’s Surge C1 image signal processor optimized for professional photography and sporting the first liquid lens ever seen in a smartphone.
It is similar to the U-shaped hinge design, which the company claims has significantly improved weight and reliability. Compared to other foldables, its weight is reduced by up to 27 percent.
