Heavy rains in Karnataka due to active monsoon
The active southwest monsoon has lashed Karnataka with heavy rains, causing landslides in hilly areas, flooding low-lying areas and disrupting normal life. According to the weather bulletin, the weather was active over the entire state due to favorable conditions, during the last 24 hours, heavy rains have occurred in the coastal areas, Malnad region, South Interior and North Interior.
According to the Meteorological Department, Agumbe in Shivamogga district recorded the highest rainfall of 20 cm, Kollur in Udupi district 15 cm, Kadra in Uttara Kannada 14 cm and Kottigehara in Chikkamagalur district and Bhagamandala in Kodagu district of 13 cm. Where is the origin of Kaveri.
The Met Office has forecast heavy rain and thundershowers with strong winds at most places in coastal districts and many parts of Malnad and southern regions in the next 48 hours.
