America is removing its anti-missile system from West Asia
The US is reducing the number of its anti-missile systems in West Asia as the US shifts its focus to China and Russia.
The US Defense Department is withdrawing about eight Patriot antimissile batteries from Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. In addition, a terminal is also removing the High Altitude Area Defense System. It is also reducing jet fighter squadrons stationed in the region in West Asia.
The US is taking this action after a phone conversation between US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on June 2.
