Uttarakhand : Preparation to make excise department online from July 1

The Excise Department is now going to make all the arrangements online to prevent any kind of manipulation. In this, from the application of shops to the supply of liquor, all arrangements will be made online. Almost all the preparations have started for this. There is a preparation to make this system online from July 1. Excise is one of the highest revenue generating departments in the state. The revenue target of the department for this year is Rs 3500 crore. Since the department is directly related to revenue, questions have also been raised from time to time regarding its functioning. Whether it is the matter of license of shops or license of bar. Apart from this, there has been a possibility of disturbances regarding the supply of liquor. In view of this, preparations have been going on for a long time to make all the work of the department transparent. Cabinet approval has also been received for this. After a long exercise, the department has also prepared a software with the help of NIC for online system. Through this software, applications for allotment of shops and bars are being invited online. Along with this, arrangements have also been made in the software to implement the track and trace system on the vehicles supplying liquor. For this, GPS is being installed in the vehicles engaged in the supply of liquor. With this, the department will directly monitor the work being done from the warehouse to the shops. Along with this, preparations are also being made to keep an eye on the sale from liquor shops online. Commissioner Excise Sushil Kumar says that the work of making the software is almost complete. The department is fully prepared to make all the arrangements online from July 1.
