Uttarakhand : Teachers met MP Baluni for restoration of old pension
Nainital : Former Kumaon Mandal Minister Dr. Kannu Joshi, who came to Haldwani, met Rajya Sabha MP and BJP’s national media in-charge Anil Baluni. Dr. Kannu Joshi told that in the year 2004, a release was issued for the recruitment of teachers. Meanwhile, in Uttarakhand on or after October 1, 2005, a mandate was issued to remove the teachers and employees appointed in government service from the old pension system and include them in the new pension scheme. Due to this the teachers were deprived of pension.
Under the pressure of the teachers, the present government constituted a three-member sub-committee of the cabinet. He demanded an initiative to take decisions in the interest of teachers. On which MP Baluni assured to hold positive talks with the members of the sub-committee of the cabinet. Sharad Dixit was also present with him.
