Lucknow :The seventh International Yoga Day was organized on Monday by the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences of King George’s Medical University. Following the Kovid protocol, in this hybrid yoga program, 30-35 students of paramedical sciences, and faculty staff did yoga in Kalam Center Hall and more than 300 people participated in the program virtually from home. This year the theme of Yoga Day was Yoga for Health and Wellness. The Chief Guest of the program was Lt Gen Dr. Bipin Puri, Vice Chancellor of KGMU. He said that on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, International Yoga Day was started on 21st June 2015, this day is being celebrated in India as well as in about 170 countries of the world. He said that during this corona epidemic, along with increasing immunity through yoga, the body can be kept healthy and the mind calm. He told that it helps us to deal with many diseases by becoming consciousness in our changing lifestyle. Dr. Vinod Jain, Dean, Para Medical Sciences, present in the program, told the importance of yoga and said that its origin is 5000 years in India. happened before. He told that there is a need to adopt yoga in our lifestyle on a daily basis in the era of this epidemic. In this negative time of covid, only yoga practice can keep us physically and mentally positive and healthy. Jain told that the purpose of this day is to increase awareness about it, for a healthy lifestyle by telling the benefits of yoga, he said that yoga also protects us from other terrible diseases like covid infection, diabetes, high blood pressure, anxiety, depression and yoga Creates harmony between human and nature, he also said that the United Nations and WHO also recommend regular yoga to improve all aspects of health.
