When something is well written, the portrayal of the characters is balanced: Shahana Goswami

Actress Shahana Goswami feels that the web show has ushered in better quality of writing, which in turn creates scope for actors like her to prove their versatility. In her latest show The Last Hour, Shahana plays a police officer who, along with another male counterpart, sets out to uncover a murder mystery. The question is, did she realize that in the story she is in the role of a strong woman in a male dominated world?

Shahana said, “I feel when something is well written, it has a natural balance in the portrayal of each character. When I am saying balance, it means that we do not need to highlight one character just because he is a male or female character. It has enough space for everyone. When it comes to my character in The Last Hour, where I play an investigative police officer, that’s my role in the story. Starting her film career in 2006, Shahana has mostly made her mark with films such as Firaaq, Mirch, Midnight’s Children, Tu Hai Mera Sunday and Gali Guleiyan, and has also starred in mainstream Bollywood entertainment. A show can be watched after 15 days or a month of release and the response of our work starts coming not within the first weekend but on word of mouth basis.
