Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Decisions

The situation of Kovid-19 in the state was reviewed in a meeting of the State Cabinet held here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. In the meeting, it was decided to start all inter-state buses including Volvo buses with 50 percent capacity from July 1, 2021 and do away with e-pass from July 1. All government offices will start functioning from July 1 with 100% capacity.

In the meeting, it was decided to open all the shops from 9 am to 8 pm while the restaurants would be allowed to remain open till 10 pm. Indoor social function will have 50 percent of the indoor capacity, maximum 50 people, while open ceremony will be allowed up to 100 people.

To calculate the theory marks of class 12th, the cabinet gave 10 percent weightage to the 10th class exam result, 15 percent to the class 11th result and 55 percent weightage to the first and second term and pre-board examinations. Also approved the formula on the basis of giving 5 percent weightage to English subject result and 15 percent weightage to internal assessment. The 12th class exam results will be declared by the third month of July, 2021.

The cabinet gave permission to provide one month holiday from June 26 to July 25 in schools in the areas which are closed in summer. There will be a 23-day holiday in Kullu district from July 23 to August 14, 2021. Apart from this, there will be a one month holiday in Lahaul-Spiti from July 1 to July 31 this year. In winter holidays, teachers will start coming to the school from July 1, 2021. While online classes will continue for the students.

The Cabinet directed the Education and Health Department to prepare a plan in such a way that most of the teachers and non-teaching staff of educational institutions could be vaccinated by the end of this month.

The Cabinet gave its approval to establish a new police station of the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau at Baddi in Solan district and to fill up 14 posts of different categories in it.

The cabinet gave permission to open new division of Jal Shakti Department at Baddi under Doon assembly constituency of Solan district besides new Jal Shakti section at Sai.
The cabinet decided to increase the stipend of Rs 5000 per month for post graduate students (MD, MS and DNB), junior resident, tutor specialist and DM, MCH students in medical and dental colleges of the states.

According to the budget announcement of the Chief Minister, it was also decided to double the nutritional allowance of the sportspersons of the Education Department. According to this decision, the nutritional allowance has been increased from Rs 50 to Rs 100 at the block level, from Rs 60 to 120 at the zonal and district level and from Rs 75 to Rs 150 per student per day at the state level.

The Cabinet decided to upgrade Government Secondary Schools Mankot, Kuthed, Kega, Ghatta, Sarog to Government High Schools and Government High Schools Banjwar, Singadhar and Dhadu to Government Senior Secondary Schools in district Chamba. For the smooth operation of these schools, it was decided to create and fill necessary posts of different categories.

The cabinet decided to increase the honorarium of part-time water carriers of the Education Department by Rs 300 per month from April 1, 2021. About 1252 part-time water carriers of the department will be benefited by this decision.

In order to deal with the second wave of COVID-19 in the state, the cabinet gave its consent to give ex-facto permission to fill up 1602 posts of different categories on outsource basis by June 30, 2021 in various health institutions of the state. In the meeting, in view of the possible third wave of COVID epidemic, it was decided to provide extension of service to these employees till 30 September, 2021.

In the meeting, it was also decided to extend the lease/tender period by at least one to four years to change the working of Govind Sagar Reservoir.

The Cabinet gave its approval to fill 25 posts of Assistant District Attorney on contract basis in the Prosecution Department by direct recruitment.

In the meeting, approval was given to create and fill 30 posts of different categories for newly opened sub-jail at Kalpa in district Kinnaur.
