Uttarakhand / Haridwara : Warning of picketing if underpass arrangements are not improved

The matter of filling rain water in Jwalapur railway gate underpass has reached Delhi. The office bearers and members of Senior Civil Social Organization have sent a memorandum to the GM of Northern Railway and DRM of Moradabad division, demanding to remove the problems being faced in the underpass built at Jwalapur railway gate. They have also been warned to stage a sit-in if the problems are not resolved. In the memorandum sent through Jwalapur railway station superintendent, it has been told on behalf of the organization that Jwalapur railway gate 16B has been closed and made under pass. But the underpass was not constructed as per the standards. In the more sloping underpass, no arrangement has been made for the divider, footpath, lighting and drainage system in the middle of the road. There is also no tin shed over the under pass. People have to face a lot of problems due to water logging in the rainy season. Due to water logging, residents of nearby Sharda Nagar, Nandpuri, Arya Nagar, Vasant Vihar, Shastri Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar colonies and the people coming and going have to face a lot of trouble in the rainy season. Despite several representations made to the concerned departments in this regard on behalf of the organization, till now the problem has not been resolved. If the problems are not resolved by completing the construction of the underpass at the earliest, then the organization will be forced to stage a sit-in protest. Those who sent the memorandum included the president of the organization Chaudhary Charan Singh, Shyam Singh, Vidyasagar Gupta, Yogendra Rana, Jialal etc.
