Ramdev’s application to the Supreme Court, seeking a stay on the FIRs against the statement on allopathy

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has moved the Supreme Court seeking a stay on several FIRs lodged against him for his remarks against the use of allopathic medicine in the treatment of Covid patients during the pandemic. In fact, many cases have been filed against the yoga guru in the last few days for the controversial statements made by him regarding allopathic medicine and doctors.

In the petition, Ramdev sought transfer of the FIRs lodged by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in Patna and Raipur to Delhi. They have been booked under various sections of the IPC.

Doctors’ voluntary body IMA has accused them of spreading false information regarding allopathic treatment for Covid patients. On May 23, Ramdev withdrew his statement on allopathic medicine after receiving a sternly written letter from Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, who termed his remarks as inappropriate.

The IMA, in its complaint, had said that Baba Ramdev was allegedly spreading misinformation on social media platforms against drugs being used by the medical fraternity, Government of India, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and other frontline organizations involved in the treatment of COVID-19. are promoting.
