Uttarakhand / Haridwar : The people of the area are facing the brunt of the negligence of Ganga Pollution Control Unit and GAIL: Aniruddha Bhati

Due to the blockage of sewer line due to the negligence of Ganga Pollution Control Unit and GAIL, sewer is boiling in Sher Gali and Coal Depot street, due to which the dirty water of sewerage is going to the houses of the local people. Despite making written and oral complaints for the last one week, the residents of the area, under the leadership of councilor Anirudh Bhati, protested at the regional office of Ganga Pollution Control Unit at Ved Bharti Ghat, SDO Rakesh Chauhan and GAIL’s Supervisor Sunny. Expressing anger in front of Singh, demanded to repair the bad sewer line. Regional Councilor Anirudh Bhati said that the people of the area are facing the brunt of the negligence of the Ganga Pollution Control Unit and GAIL. The sewer line was damaged a week ago by the employees of GAIL (Haridwar Natural Gas) while laying gas pipeline in Branch Gali Coal Depot Gali and Sher Gali. In this context, a demand was made to solve the problem by informing the officers, employees of Haridwar Natural Gas and Ganga Pollution Control Unit several times in oral and written form. The officers and employees of both the departments are making excuses instead of repairing the sewer line by imposing responsibility on each other, which will not be tolerated. Councilor Anirudh Bhati said that due to the negligence of the departments in Sher Gali, the residents of the area are forced to lead a hellish life. Stool and urine are flowing in the street. Women and children are taking out contaminated water from inside the houses with buckets, due to which there is a danger of communicable diseases in the area. He said that in this context on June 21, he had given a memorandum to the Executive Engineer and demanded that the sewer line be repaired. If the sewer line is not repaired within 24 hours, then he will file a complaint against the Ganga Pollution Control Unit and Haridwar Natural Gas. BJP Ward President Neeraj Sharma said that due to lack of coordination among the working organizations, the residents of the area are facing a lot of trouble. During the rains, the people of the street are forced to take out the sewage water from the house after staying awake all night. PRO Mohit Prajapati, City Trade Board Treasurer Amit Gupta, Dinesh Sharma, Sonu Pandit, Naresh Pal, Prakash Veer, Suryakant Sharma, Sunil Saini, Bharat Nanda also demanded immediate repair of sewerage system and replacement of damaged covers.

On this occasion Dimple Singh Kathait, Roshni, Poonam, Kavita Saklani, Sangeeta Dimri, Basati, Santoshi Saklani, Rama Chamoli, Sita Devi, Indu Devi, SD Chamoli, Madan Saini, Rajendra Gupta, Rupesh Sharma, Lakshya Sharma, Avi Sharma, Devendra Many residents including Pandey, Guddi, Pankaj Joshi, Raman, Gautam, Rakesh Saklani, Kusum Sharma, Rukmani Devi, Manish Sharma, Anil Negi, Sarvesh, Deepmala Kathait demanded early repair of sewer line. While assuring the residents of the area, SDO Rakesh Chauhan said that talks have been held with the officials of Haridwar Natural Gas. Both the departments will coordinate and repair the damaged sewer line today and after assessing the damaged covers, new ones will be installed.
