Himachal Pradesh / Solan : Banks should ensure proper publicity of financial schemes : Krutika Kulhari

Deputy Commissioner Solan Kritika Kulhari has directed various banks working in Solan district to give wide publicity in simple words to the schemes being implemented to improve the social and economic status of different sections. Krutika Kulhari was presiding over the 163rd quarterly meeting of the District Advisory Committee set up by UCO Bank, the leading bank of the district, here last day.

Kritika Kulhari said that proper use of social media should be ensured for dissemination of financial schemes. He directed that people should be made aware about the formalities of the schemes so that people can get benefits from the schemes on time. He said that banks need to work sensitively in this direction so that correct information about schemes reaches the village level.

The Deputy Commissioner said that due to the COVID-19 crisis, at present, it is necessary to emphasize on sanctioning loans under various schemes to the youth for employment and self-employment. He said that the banks would have to do a planned work to spread and spread the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana from village to village.

It was informed in the meeting that till March 31, 2021, 223218 accounts have been opened in the district under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. Till December 31, 2020, 211444 accounts were opened under this scheme. 8683.42 lakhs have been deposited in these accounts till March 31, 2021. About 64 percent of the account holders have been issued RuPay cards while 88.20 percent of the accounts have been linked with Aadhaar numbers. Till this period, 273963 beneficiaries have been added to the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. 143196 beneficiaries have been added to Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and 44741 to Atal Pension Yojana.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, 20107 accounts have been opened in Solan district till March 2021. About Rs.3447 lakh has been sanctioned to 7998 beneficiaries under Shishu category of the scheme, about Rs.21875 lakh to 8635 persons under Kishor category and Rs.24,622 lakh to 3474 beneficiaries under Tarun category.

It was apprised in the meeting that income generating activities like animal husbandry, poultry farming including agricultural business centers and agro processing are eligible under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.

Till March 2021, 30424 Kisan Credit Cards have been issued in the district. During this period 1010 Self Help Groups are working in the district.

Under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program, 230 cases have been approved by the District Industries Center in Solan district.

Swar Grover, Assistant General Manager, Reserve Bank of India informed the banks about the guidelines issued from time to time and urged all the bank officers to be present in every workshop of the Block Level Bankers Committee, urging their compliance.

On this occasion, General Manager of District Industries Center, Rajiv Kumar, Manager of UCO Bank, KK Jaswal, DDM Nabard Ashok Chauhan, Director of UCO RSETI, Rohit Kashyap and other officers and managers and representatives of various banks were present on this occasion.
