Uttarakhand : Valley of flowers will open for tourists from today, COVID negative report mandatory
Seeing the decreasing cases of corona infection and after taking stock of the Valley of Flowers, it has been decided to open the Valley of Flowers from July 1. It will be mandatory for tourists coming to the valley to bring a COVID negative report. Last year the valley was opened on August 1 due to COVID, but this year the valley is being opened a month in advance. Nanda Ballabh Sharma, the conservator of forests of Nanda Devi National Park, said that in the past, the forest department’s high officials visited the valley for three days and took stock of the arrangements. The walkways and culverts leading to the valley have been repaired. Along with this, the work of uprooting Polygonum grass is also going on these days. To take stock of the valley, Amit Kanwar, the effective director and conservator of forests of Nanda Devi Biosphere, and Nanda Ballabh Sharma, deputy conservator of forests of Nanda Devi National Park, went with the team and returned on Tuesday. After this it was decided to open the valley. He told that all preparations have been made to open the valley to the tourists. Brijmohan Bharti, the forest officer from Ghangaria outpost, will flag off the arrival of tourists in the valley.
