Hockey India launches Heroes Connect, a player platform for players

Hockey India has launched its own player-oriented web-based connectivity platform ‘Heroes Connect’, which aims to create a comprehensive database of players who have represented the country in both men’s and women’s FIH approved events.

This amazing web-based responsive platform has been designed to encourage former and present Indian international hockey players to initiate constructive discussions around the game. All former and current hockey players who have played for India can create their profile on this platform verified by the national federation.

According to a Hockey India release, these profiles include general details of a player, matches played for the Indian team, career span, tournaments played, year of retirement, memorable career moments, awards won, social media profiles and player’s details. Photos are included.
Former Indian Olympian Sabu Varkey said after registering on the platform, “Heroes Connect is a beautiful initiative which will help him connect with his former teammates. I haven’t been in touch with many of the players I’ve played with, so this is a great platform where I can get their contact numbers and connect back and talk to them. Recently I was searching the contact details of my teammates and luckily Hockey India has just launched it so I think it will help me to get in touch with my former teammates.

Meanwhile, former Indian women’s defender Deepika, who was part of the Indian women’s hockey team at the Rio 2016 Olympics, said, the Heroes Connect platform will build a strong hockey community. I think this is a great initiative by Hockey India to keep everyone connected in the hockey fraternity. Never thought that players would have their own contact platform. The Heroes Connect platform will build a strong hockey community and I am happy to be a part of it.
