More than 33 crore 63 lakh vaccines have been made available to the states and union territories

The central government is committed to accelerating and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination across the country. The new phase involving the widespread availability of the COVID-19 vaccine began on June 21, 2021. With the availability of more vaccines, the vaccination campaign has been intensified by providing advance information on vaccination availability to the states and union territories so that the states and union territories can better plan for vaccines and streamline the supply chain of vaccines.
As part of the nationwide immunization campaign, the Government of India is helping the States and Union Territories by providing them free COVID vaccines. Under the new phase of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign involving making the vaccine available to all, the central government will buy 75 percent of the vaccines produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country and supply them (free of cost) to the states and union territories.

The Government of India has so far provided more than 33.63 crore doses (33,63,78,220) of COVID vaccine to the States/UTs through the free category and direct purchase by the states.

In addition, 44,90,000 doses of the vaccine are under process and will be provided to the States/UTs in the next three days.
