Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Father-son involved in Nivedita murder case arrested

In the case of murder of a Bengal girl in Rajpur police station area, the police have also arrested the father and son involved in the incident. Police has already arrested Ankit Chaudhary, the main accused in the murder of the girl. Ankit had used the car of the accused to take the dead body to the forest and both the father and son were present at the spot on the day the girl was murdered.

SO Rajpur Rakesh Shah said that on June 25, Haldhar Mukherjee resident Chhora Hospital, Bahla Vardhaman (Bengal) gave a complaint application. It told that his daughter Nivedita Mukherjee was teaching in a private institute in Dehradun for the last eight months. In October 2020, through Facebook, she came in contact with Dehradun-based material supplier Ankit Chaudhary. Ankit is originally from Phandpuri village Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, but has been living in Dehradun for a long time. According to Haldhar Mukherjee, both wanted to get married.

Nivedita last spoke to her mother on the phone on April 28. After this, even after many attempts, there was no contact. Nivedita’s relatives kept trying to contact Ankit over phone, but he did not pick up the phone. Later Ankit was chatted on Facebook. During the chatting, he told that Nivedita has died after falling from the flat and she has also performed the last rites. After investigation, the police registered a case against Ankit Chaudhary and arrested him on June 26. On the basis of the statements of Ankit Chaudhary, it came to light that Anuj Narang and his father Chandraprakash Narang, resident of Narang Sweets Opposite Collectorate Police Station Sadar Bazar Delhi Road Saharanpur are also involved in the incident. On Saturday, he was arrested from Dehradun itself.

During interrogation, Anuj told that Ankit Chaudhary is his friend. Both were living in the same flat in Jakhan since April 9. Anuj Narang and his father Chandraprakash Narang were present at the same flat on the night of the incident. At night, there was a fight between Ankit Chaudhary and Nivedita Mukherjee over some issue. Ankit pushed Nivedita sitting in the balcony. After this, all three immediately reached downstairs and took the seriously injured Nivedita to the flat. Nivedita died shortly after. Ankit Choudhary put the body in the trunk of Anuj’s car and took it to Mussoorie for burning.
