Inflation hit: Petrol-diesel prices increased for the second day today

Oil marketing companies increased the price of petrol for the second consecutive day, due to which its price reached very close to 100 rupees per liter in Delhi and Kolkata. Petrol in Mumbai and Chennai has already crossed this level. At the same time, there was no change in the price of diesel. Petrol became costlier by 39 paise today in four major metros of the country. According to leading oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation, the price of petrol in Delhi rose by 35 paise to hit an all-time high of Rs 99.86 per liter. Diesel remained stable at Rs 89.36 per litre.

The current process of increasing the price of petrol and diesel started on May 04. Petrol was costlier by Rs 8.41 and diesel by Rs 8.45 in May and June in Delhi. In July, the price of petrol has increased by Rs 1.05 and that of diesel by 18 paise per liter. In Mumbai, petrol became costlier by 34 paise to Rs 105.92 per liter. Diesel remained unchanged at Rs 96.91 per litre. In Chennai, petrol became costlier by 31 paise and was sold at Rs 100.75 per liter. Diesel remained at Rs 93.91 per liter without any change.

In Kolkata, petrol became costlier by 39 paise and reached Rs 99.84 per liter. There, the price of one liter of diesel remained at Rs 92.27 per litre. Petrol and diesel prices are reviewed daily and based on that new prices are implemented every day from 6 am.
