Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid his heartfelt tribute to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee on his birth anniversary by garlanding a portrait in front of his statue installed in the premises of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee (Civil) Hospital here today. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee was a great son of Mother India, an intense patriot and a great educationist. On the occasion of Mukherjee’s birth anniversary, today the entire nation is paying its humble tributes by remembering him for his services to the nation.
The Chief Minister said that Dr. Mukherjee was a strong advocate of the unity and integrity of India. He continued his fight for the integrity of the country till his last breath and also sacrificed his life for this. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has abolished Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir on August 05, 2019, giving form to Dr. Mukherjee’s dreams. Today, Jammu and Kashmir seems to be moving towards a new era of peace and harmony in the country with a new zeal for development. The Chief Minister said that Dr. Mukherjee became the youngest Vice Chancellor of Kolkata University in the country. He had given a new direction to the country in the field of education. He said that in independent India, Dr. Mukherjee had given a vision to the country. Due to his vision, the pace of industrial development is visible in the country. The Chief Minister said that Dr. Mukherjee has a major contribution in the development of the country, unity and integrity of India and education. While paying homage to the memories of Dr. Mukherjee, he paid a humble tribute to him on behalf of the people of the state. He said that India of Mukherjee’s dreams is setting a new example in front of the world today as ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On this occasion Minister of Water Power and Flood Control Mahendra Singh, Minister of Legislative and Justice Brijesh Pathak, Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Women Welfare and Child Development and Nutrition, Swati Singh, Member of Legislative Council, Swatantra Dev Singh, Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia and other dignitaries were present.
