Rishikesh Mayor Anita Mamgain reached Delhi on Tuesday. There he met Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and submitted a memorandum. He informed the Union Urban Development Minister about various projects of Municipal Corporation Rishikesh. Told that Devbhoomi Rishikesh is known as the International Capital of Yoga. If Rishikesh is developed as a smart city, then tourists and devotees coming from all over the world will get its benefit. Said that according to the population of the year 2011, the pilgrimage city is completely perfect to come under the Amrit Yojana. Apart from this, he informed about the project of Rs 25 crore for multi-storey parking in the city. Also told about the dream project of developing Barrage reservoir as water sports and rejuvenation of Sanjay lake etc. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri assured that a survey will be conducted to make Rishikesh a smart city. Apart from this, the ministry will also extend all possible cooperation to complete the mega projects of Rishikesh.
