Record of corona cases broken in Cuba after a day, 3664 new cases

A day later, Cuba broke the record for new cases of corona infection and the maximum number of 3,664 people were infected during the last 24 hours. A day earlier, 3,591 cases were reported, the highest daily reported cases since the outbreak began.

Francisco Duran, director of sanitation and epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health, said in his daily report on Thursday that 3,622 people out of 3,664 people have been infected by community transmission. With the new cases, the total number of corona infected in the country has increased to 2,14,577. During this, 18 people died due to corona, taking the death toll to 1,405.

The province of Matanjas remains the epicenter of the epidemic and 806 cases of infection were reported here during the last 24 hours. In the province, 1316 people are infected per one lakh people.

In view of the prevailing situation, the government has decided to send 300 doctors and nurses from other regions to Matanjas to strengthen the health system in the province. Along with this, it has been decided to send 200 doctors who have recently completed bachelor’s degree. In addition, the Cuban government has implemented new measures to stem the rise in cases, including increased surveillance of the pandemic, more stringent international health controls, and continuing its national vaccination campaign.
