Jammu and Kashmir : Encounter breaks out between security forces and terrorists in Kulgam
An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to information received from the police, on the basis of strong information about the presence of terrorists in Redwani village of Kulgam, Rashtriya Rifle, Special Operation Team of State Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon and search operation in the early hours. When the security forces personnel were moving towards a certain area in the village, the terrorists hiding there started firing. After this, in retaliation, the security forces also opened fire and the encounter started. He said that additional security forces have been sent to the spot to cordon off the area.
Meanwhile, all roads leading to the village have been closed. He said that the operation was going on till the last information was received.
It is noteworthy that this is the third operation by security forces in South Kashmir during the last 36 hours. During this, four terrorists have been killed by the security forces.
