“Strict action should be taken against those who do not follow the guidelines issued for the prevention of COVID infection”, District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Kumar Srivastava said this in a review meeting of COVID-19 organized through videoconferencing. The District Magistrate said that instructions have been given by the Uttarakhand government to the tourists at the tourist places of the state to comply with the word ‘Chapter’. He said that in view of the instructions of the government, only those tourists will be allowed to visit Mussoorie, who will have online registration on the Dehradun Smart City portal and proof of COVID negative test report and booking done in the hotel up to 72 hours before. Tourists who will not provide proof of online registration, COVID negative test report and booking on Dehradun Smart City Portal, will not be allowed to visit Mussoorie.
The District Magistrate said that it has come to the notice through videos on social media that people are not following masks and social distance at tourist places, this situation is worrying. He made all the Deputy District Magistrates follow the masks and social distance while deploying police, home guards and PRD jawans at tourist places in their respective areas. He said that there is a need to follow the guidelines by keeping strict vigil at places like Mussoorie, Sahastradhara, Rishikesh, Trivenighat and other places where people gather for bathing. He asked the Deputy District Magistrates Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Deputy District Magistrate Sadar to keep a close watch on the tourists coming to their respective areas and get them to follow the rules, besides regularly inspecting various hotels, lodges and dharamshalas on the condition of the visiting tourists.
The District Magistrate directed all the sub-district magistrates to keep checking the number of tourists/persons coming from other states at the border check posts under their respective areas and also the complete details of the travel of the people coming. He said that every person coming to the district should be compulsorily sampled, those who have COVID report, then it should be checked that the report should be from 72 hours ago. He directed to keep the sampling and complete travel details of the people coming along with continuous monitoring at airports, bus stations, railway stations, etc. The District Magistrate asked the Chief Medical Officer to vaccinate more and more people while increasing the progress of the planned method of vaccination including vaccination to all MOICs. He directed all the MOICs to plan and send a mobile team to get the vaccination done in the rural areas where the second dose of vaccination is to be administered in their respective areas. District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Kumar Srivastava has told that in the report received in view of corona virus infection in the district, as a result of receiving positive report of 13 persons, the number of people infected with corona till the guest in the district has gone up to 111655, out of which total 107100 persons are undergoing treatment. Got healthy after that. At present 474 persons are under treatment in the district. A total of 8917 samples were sent for testing today. Today 4618 persons were monitored by Anganwadi workers, in which no symptoms of COVID infection were found in any person. In the district, 04 home isolation kits were distributed by the district administration and 05 in different development blocks. Similarly, today information about their health was obtained by contacting 89 persons living in home isolation from the COVID Control Room.
