Jammu and Kashmir : Lashkar terrorist arrested in Jammu and Kashmir, arms seized
Jammu and Kashmir Police along with security forces arrested an active terrorist of banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba from Bandipora district and arms and ammunition have been recovered from his possession. Police said that on specific inputs regarding movement of terrorists in Hajin town, a joint naka was set up by police and army’s 13 RR and CRPF’s 45 Bn in Gundjahangir area. According to the information received from the police, during the Naka investigation, a person was found behaving in a very suspicious manner and was apprehended by the United Naka Party.
He has been identified as Muzammil Sheikh alias Abu Mawiya, a resident of Chandergir Hajin.
Police said that during his search, arms and ammunition, including a Chinese pistol, live cartridges were recovered from him.
Relevantly, the said terrorist had recently joined the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and was tasked to carry out subversive activities in and around Hajin city.
