Samsung TV Plus Now Streaming on the Web
With the content streaming industry exploding globally, Samsung has quietly expanded its ad-supported streaming service TV Plus to the web. The Samsung TV Plus service gives viewers access to approximately 140 streaming channels, such as ABC News Live, PBS KIDS, ION Plus, Vice and others in the US currently on reported protocols.
These channels are accessible regardless of whether you own a Samsung device or not.
Samsung this month also added the ability to cast video to its mobile app on devices that support Google’s Chromecast.
It seems that the web version of TV Plus has been soft-launched as the company is yet to make a public announcement.
Samsung brought TV Plus to India in March. It provides free TV content along with ad-supported select live channels and on-demand video to Samsung Smart TV consumers with no additional devices like a set top box.
To use the service, consumers will only need a Samsung Smart TV (2017 models onwards) and an Internet connection.
With the launch in India, Samsung TV Plus is now available in 14 countries including the US, Canada, Korea, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, UK, Italy, France, Spain, Australia, Brazil and Mexico.
Globally, Samsung TV Plus gives Samsung Smart TV and Galaxy smartphone users access to 800+ channels, including news, sports, entertainment and more.
The TV Plus app can be downloaded from both the Samsung Galaxy Store and the Google Play Store.
