Virtually addressing the state executive meeting of the UP Working Journalists Union (UPWJU), affiliated to the Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ), in Jhansi on Saturday, Principal General Secretary Parmanand Pandey said that in this era of rapid change in labor laws, journalist organizations will have to fight to protect its interests. In the elections held in the state executive meeting, senior journalist TB Singh was elected UPWJU president and senior journalist Rajesh Maheshwari as general secretary. Journalist and well-known writer of Sonbhadra district Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi State Vice President and Indramani of Gorakhpur, Santosh Gupta of Moradabad, Sarvesh Kumar Singh of Balrampur district, Rajesh Mishra and Ajay Trivedi of Lucknow were elected State Secretaries During the election, IFWJ National Vice President Hemant Tiwari And National Secretary Siddharth Geese, National Treasurer Vikas Sharma was the supervisor. More than five dozen journalists were present in the Jhansi conference of UPWJU, while only so many participated in a virtual way. Senior journalist Yashovardhan Gupta was the chief guest of the program. Mayor Jhansi Ramtirth Singhal, Minister of State for status Munnulal Gautam and former MLA Vinod Chaturvedi were the special guests. In his address, Yashovardhan Gupta said that Jhansi is the land of journalists and writers and from here the organization will get a new direction. Mayor Ramtirth Singhal suggested the journalists to organize programs in Jhansi after the Corona period. Journalists Virendra Singh, Sunil Diwakar, Ashish Bajpai from Lucknow, Ashok Gupta from Mauranipur, Rohit Maheshwari from Fatehpur and many other senior journalists participated in the program.
