Two people tied to their seats were burnt alive when a Maruti Eeco van collided with an electric pole and caught fire in Gurugram. police gave this information. The incident happened around 5 pm. Police said the van collided with a pole, overturned and caught fire on the Tikli-Gairatpur Bas village road, and Sunny and Khanna, residents of Haryana’s Mewat district, got trapped in the car and burnt to death.
According to the police, both were returning from Garatpur Bas village to Badshahpur.
Preliminary police inquiries revealed that Sunny, who was driving the car, lost control of the steering wheel and hit an electric pole. Sub-inspector Virender Singh told , as a result of the impact of the collision, the car equipped with CNG cylinder caught fire within seconds.
Both could not escape the flames and were burnt alive.
As soon as the incident was reported, a team of Badshahpur police station and two fire tenders of Sector-29 fire station reached the spot and doused the fire. The police have sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem.
Singh said, the villagers also told that the van was at a very high speed at the time of the incident and when it reached a turn, the driver lost control and hit it with a pole, causing the major accident. The investigation continues.
