Berrettini finished third in Race to Turin
Wimbledon runner-up Matteo Berrettini of Italy has cemented his chances of qualifying for the 2021 ATP Finals The ATP Finals to be held in Turin from November 14-21 at the Pala Alpitour. The 25-year-old Berrettini’s 11-match winning streak on the grass court was broken at the All England club on Sunday with a loss to world number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia. Djokovic won his record-equalling 20th Grand Salem title while Berrettini jumped four places to reach number three in the ATP Race to Turin.
Berrettini qualified for the ATP Finals in 2019 and was an alternate last year. He has 3,505 points in his account so far this year and is behind five-time winner Djokovic (7,170) and 2019 winner Stefanos Tsitsipas (4,570) of Greece.
The other two Wimbledon semi-finalists Hubert Hurkaj (2,190) of Poland and Denis Shapovalov (1,635) of Canada also improved their positions in the Race to Turin.
