India to send five archers to Tokyo Paralympics

India will send five archers to the Tokyo Paralympics this time as compared to sending one archer to the Rio Paralympics.

This will be the first time that India will send five archers to the Paralympics, whereas in the last Rio Paralympics held in 2016, only one Indian archer had challenged. All this has been possible due to the inclusion of Jyoti Balyan in the team due to the bipartite quota system.

Jyoti is a compound archer. Apart from them, the team includes Rakesh Kumar (Compound Men’s Open) and Vivek Chikara and Harvinder Singh (Recurve Men’s Open). Jyoti’s place in the team means that India can now participate in mixed team events apart from individual events.
