Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Farmers reached collectorate in tractor-trolley regarding demands
The Kisan Union Tomar workers reached the Collectorate with tractor-trolleys for various demands. During this, the farmers demonstrated in the collectorate premises and sent a memorandum to the PM through DM. On Thursday, under the leadership of state president Somdutt Sharma, the farmers staged a sit-in in the collectorate. Raising slogans, he called for repeal of all the three anti-farmer laws, legislation on MSP, arranging drains for irrigation, free electricity to farmers, tax-free agricultural machinery, banning the arbitrariness of private schools, sugarcane in the upcoming session. Demand for raising the price to Rs 450 per quintal and giving pension to farmers above 60 years of age. It was to be said that the farmers have been demanding their rights for a long time, but the government has not yet taken any cognizance of the demands. Warned that if action is not taken soon, the farmers will be forced to agitate once again.
