Uttarakhand : MoU signed between Namami Gange and HESCO

The National Mission of Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization (HESCO) has collaborated to save the Ganga’s environment and improve the means of living by connecting the population living in the Ganga Basin region with nature. MoU has been signed for Director Binod Kumar on behalf of NMCG and Dr. Anil Joshi on behalf of HESCO signed the agreement. The MoU was signed in a brief ceremony held at NMCG Conference Room, New Delhi. About this environmentalist Dr. Anil Joshi said that this is a historic initiative. Recognizing the initiative and contribution of voluntary organizations for the engagement of people belonging to Ganga, Namami Gange has signed an agreement with HESCO. This is the beginning of a new job. In which new possibilities of economic, ecological development will be seen focused on the resources associated with the village, which will ultimately be dedicated to the Ganga. In this, mainly looking at the ecological aspect of Ganga, serious economic, social connectivity, there will be such an initiative, which will directly show the importance of Ganga for the people in the times to come. By becoming a part of the Ganga envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an effort will be made for greater connectivity and change. On the one hand, new capabilities will be developed in it, while many small and big experiments will be added to it. that affects us. The biggest thing is that the Ganges, which is important for this country in every form. Keeping its importance, how can we connect the local people with the Ganga in a new way from the economic aspect and by branding it, we can orient the population of the Ganga basin towards development. Work will be done in this direction. This will be a major challenge to this agreement. This agreement will help in giving a new dimension to the dialogue on the Ganga in between, the larger and collective engagement with the Ganga. This agreement is a novelty in itself. It should be assumed that this agreement has been made directly by Namami Gange with the people. It is worth noting that Namami Gange as an organization has been working on Ganga reform since 2011. At the same time, Hesco organization is working towards making the difficult life of villages easier under the leadership of Dr. Anil Joshi and connecting the life there with the economy. Under the agreement, HESCO will work with Namami Gange on training, awareness, micro-irrigation, horticulture, biomass, energy, forest produce, river environmental sustainability, watershed care in rural areas.
