15 proposals passed to speed up development works
In the meeting of Nagar Palika Parishad, Herbertpur, fifteen resolutions were passed to speed up various development works of the city. During the meeting, a member of the municipality expressed deep displeasure over the slow pace of development works and the clogged drains and dirt of the city. In the meeting held under the chairmanship of Municipal President Herbertpur Devendra Singh Bisht, the resolutions passed earlier were confirmed. The increased construction works up to March 2020-21 were approved. Discussions were held regarding increasing the honorarium of daily, contract and out source workers, water harvesting, recycling and tubewell construction under the Fifteenth Finance Commission. Proposals were passed to give contract for street lighting, sanitation, purchase of insecticides and life saving medicines, advertisement boards in the middle of MH light at Herbertpur main square, etc. Resolutions were passed regarding the construction works of road drains etc. During this, the member Vipul Agarwal raised the issue of cleaning the dirty drains of the canal. Aggarwal said that due to the filth in the drains in Herbertpur, the risk of diseases has increased during the rainy season. Drains should be cleaned immediately. Expressed displeasure over not constructing public toilets. Said that due to this, the plans of the Central and State Government are being sabotaged in Herbertpur. The rallying on the banks of the gully behind the Gurudwara has not yet been made. EO Surendra Kumar conducted the meeting.
