75 thousand crore released to the states for GST compensation
The government has released Rs 75,000 crore to the states to compensate for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) compensation. The Finance Ministry said that the compensation amount has been met through back to back loans. The ministry said that this loan will not affect the Government of India as it has been taken for the states.
The ministry said that according to the decision taken in the meeting of the GST Council, this amount has been raised and given to the states.
According to the ministry, under the same arrangement, Rs 1.10 lakh crore was released to the states in the last financial year also.
