Foreign exchange reserves close to $612 billion
The country’s foreign exchange reserves increased for the third consecutive week and reached close to $ 612 billion for the first time. According to the data released by the Reserve Bank today, the country’s reserves of foreign exchange increased by $ 1.88 billion to a new record level of $ 611.89 billion in the week ended July 09.
Due to this, in the last week ended, $ 1.01 billion rose to a new record level of $ 610.01 billion. Earlier, in the week ended June 25, it had risen by $5.07 billion to $609 billion.
The forex asset, the largest component of forex reserves, rose by $1.29 billion to $568.28 billion during the week ended July 09. During this, gold reserves also increased by $ 58.4 million and reached $ 36.95 billion.
Reserves with the International Monetary Fund rose by $3 million to $5.10 billion. The special drawing rights stood at $1.54 billion.
