Top leader of terrorist organization Gunbi arrested
The top leader of banned terrorist organization Ansar al-Islam and Hefazat-e-Islam Mahmoud Hasan Gunbi has been arrested in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
Commander Khandakar Al Moeen, director of the Rapid Action Battalion’s Legal and Media Wing, said Gunbi was arrested from Dhaka’s embankment area last evening.
Gunbi used to seduce innocent boys and girls and say that to follow Islam it is necessary to present himself as terrorist and suicide terrorist member. He confesses that he knows how to secretly hypnotize people into suicide terrorists through special training.

Gunbi, the leader of terrorist organization Dawat-e-Islam, used to involve innocent people in terrorist activity in the name of Islam through Huji, Ansarullah Bangla Team, banned extremist organization etc.
In his confession with the RAB, he claimed himself to be the head of the Al Qaeda-linked terrorist organization Dawat-e-Islam Bangladesh.
Jihadi books and pamphlets were recovered during the operation.
Commander Moin said that Gunbi was trying to inspire women to join militancy.
Several of his close aides, Saiful Islam, Abdul Hameed, Anisur Rehman, have already been arrested.
Gunbi used to run shadow organizations to hide his spreading militancy. He is said to be the Manhaji member of Dawat-e-Islam. Those members became militant members within the organization.
He also incited extremism and terrorism on various issues. He took special initiative to include followers of other religions in the banner of Dawat Islam and join militancy. In this case, they use a strategy specifically to arouse psychological remorse.
Gunbi, one of Huji’s top militants, was first associated with Huji (B), an Islamist terrorist organization that had been active in the South Asian countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh and India since the early 1990s. The terrorist organization was banned in Bangladesh in 2005.
Later, he came in contact with Jasim Uddin Rahmani, the student wing of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jamaat-e-Islam and one of the founders of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). As a close aide of Rahmani, he is also accused of murdering philosopher Avijit Roy, other intellectuals and thinkers of Bangladesh such as Rajiv, Dipon.
