Jammu and Kashmir : Two terrorists including top commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba killed in encounter

Two terrorists, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, were killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Shopian’s Sadiq Khan area last night. The slain top Lashkar commander has been identified as Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram. According to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar, Lashkar commander Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram was one of the top Lashkar terrorists operating in the region since 2017 and was killed in a joint operation by police, army and Central Reserve Police Force. Police have said that other material including arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the encounter site. After conducting a search operation, the security forces captured the bodies of both the terrorists. After receiving information about the presence of terrorists, a joint operation was launched by the security forces in the Czech Sadiq Khan area of Shopian. The operation soon turned into an encounter in which two terrorists were killed. A senior police officer has informed that the operation is still going on. Earlier last week, a Pakistani Lashkar commander and two of his local aides were killed in an encounter in Pulwama district as well. The Pakistani commander was identified as Ejaz alias Abu Huraria. Along with him, two local terrorists Javid Ahmed Rather and Shahnawaz Nazir Ghani were also killed.
