Banyan plant was planted for the first time through Japanese method ‘Miyawaki’

Health and Family Welfare and AYUSH Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal called upon the younger generation to work dedicatedly for environmental protection. Dr. Saijal was addressing the gathering after launching the 72nd district level Van Mahotsav campaign at Datyar in Kasauli assembly constituency of Solan district today.

On this occasion, he started the campaign by planting a banyan tree through the Japanese method of tree plantation ‘Miyawaki’. He also planted a Peepal sapling under the ambitious ‘Ek Buta Beti Ke Naam’ scheme. On this occasion 500 saplings of Peepal, Arjun, Dadhu, Bahera, Sheesham etc. were planted.

Dr. Saijal said on this occasion that in this financial year more than 3,10,000 saplings of different species will be planted on 386 hectares of land in Solan district. He said that plantation has been done on 1650 hectares of land in Solan district during the last 3.5 years. On this occasion, he provided 51-51 saplings to the ward members of Gram Panchayat Jabali and Koti Nabha for planting.

The Ayush Minister said that the success of the tree plantation drive depends on the safety of the trees planted. In this direction the participation of the younger generation is very important. He said that if young people take a pledge to take care of the planted plants, then the green cover of the earth can be increased appropriately. He urged the youth to work for the success of the tree plantation campaign. Dr. Saijal said that Balika Samman Vatika has been established in Datyar by the Integrated Child Development Project by planting 52 saplings in the name of 52 daughters born in Gram Panchayat Jabali and Koti Nabha in the last one year.

He said that Datyar is being developed from the point of view of tourism and this place situated on the National Highway will emerge as a major tourist attraction in the coming time.

Dr. Saijal listened to the public problems on this occasion and instructed the officers to solve them. Welcoming the chief guest, Forest Conservator E. Vikram said that four golden gardens have been established recently on the completion of 50 years of complete statehood of the state. He said that an increase of 24.29 square kilometer has been registered in the forest area of ​​Solan district in the last two years. With the aim of improving the water availability situation in Solan district in the next two years, 03 structures of capacity more than 10 lakh liters will be constructed under the Jal Bhandar Yojana.

While presenting the vote of thanks, Divisional Forest Officer Yashudip Singh presented information about the Japanese method of plantation ‘Miyawaki’. He said that in this technique the plants are planted close to each other so that they can grow in less time by competing for sunlight. This technique has been used for the first time in the state in Datyar.
