Now vegetables, fruits and spices will be exported from Mathura to America

North India’s first Gamma Radiation Processing (GRPF) facility with pack house and cold storage has been built in Mathura, UP. Through this GRPF packhouse, people living in America, Australia, Canada, Brazil and New Zealand are now grown in UP-Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand Potato, Onion, Peas, Cabbage, Cabbage, Ginger, Green Chillies, Amla, Jackfruit, Mango, Litchi You will be able to taste guava, jamun, pomegranate and spices. On the other hand thousands of businessmen and lakhs of farmers associated with agriculture and fruit business will benefit from this GRPF pack house. Their grown fruits, vegetables and spices can now be easily shipped to countries around the world including America, Australia, Canada, Brazil, New Zealand. UP is the largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the country. Yet less than 10 per cent of the fruits and vegetables produced in the state were processed. Large quantities of perishable food items were wasted every year. Due to which the farmers could not get a fair price for their crops. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of this. Under which he prepared the Food Processing Policy 2017 to promote investment in the field of food processing. Impressed by this policy of the state government, small and big investors showed interest in setting up 803 enterprises costing Rs 4109.74 crore since the year 2018. Among these investors, 81 in the field of fruit-vegetable processing, 232 in the field of consumer products, 397 in the field of food grain milling, 03 in the field of herbal processing, 35 in the field of milk processing, in the field of oilseeds processing. 27 in the field of processing of pulses, 15 in the field of processing of meat, 08 in the field of meat processing and 10 in the area of ​​refer van requested the government to provide land for setting up their factories. One of these investors was Abhishek Mishra, who in September 2017 decided to become a part of the food processing industry in the state.

Abhishek Mishra was working in CK Birla Group company, leaving his job, he took the initiative to build GRPF packhouse and cold storage in Mathura. He formed his own company in the name of Solas Industries and urged the government to provide land in Mathura for the year 2018 to build GRPF packhouse and cold storage. Prompt action was taken on his proposal and he got 5535 square meters of land from UPCIDA in Kosi Kotwan Industrial Area of ​​Mathura. Now GRPF packhouse and cold storage has been made on this plot. More than Rs 21 crore has been spent on its construction. Now the plan is to launch it next month. The most important thing about this project is that it is the first GRPF pack house and cold storage in North India and Uttar Pradesh.
Due to his decision, now fruit and vegetable traders in Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Meerut, Mathura, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Unnao, Prayagraj, Varanasi and Gorakhpur are selling potatoes, onions, peas, Cabbage, Cabbage, Ginger, Green Chillies, Amla, Jackfruit, Mango, Lychee, Guava, Jamun, Pomegranate and spices etc. can be shipped to countries around the world including America, Australia, Canada, Brazil, New Zealand. Gamma radiation processing is necessary to make vegetables, fruits and spices shipped to these countries free from bacteria and viruses. Till now, vegetables produced in the state were not being sent to foreign countries due to the absence of pack houses with Gamma Radiation Processing (GRPF) facility in the state. Fruits, vegetables and spices were exported to these countries only through GRPF pack houses and cold storages set up at Vasai, Mumbai, Lasalgaon, Nashik and Bangalore. Now from next month, UP will also be able to send fruits, vegetables and spices produced in UP to the above countries. Additional Chief Secretary says that with the commissioning of this GRPA packhouse and cold storage, not only will the export of fruits and vegetables and spices increase, but vegetables and fruits can be stored for a long time due to gamma radiation.
