Uttarakhand / Rishikesh : Panic among villagers due to threat of Guldar

Villagers are frightened by the knock of Guldar in the Gulzar Farm of Gram Panchayat Khadri Khadakmaf. Villagers forced to hide in their homes as the evening approaches, allege that the forest department is not taking any action for the safety of the people. About one thousand families in Gulzar Farm are in panic for the past one month. In fact, as soon as the evening falls, there is a walk of Guldar here. The violent creature has killed many dogs, which has scared the villagers. Residents Vinod Chauhan, Vineet Bhatt, Fatah Chauhan, Pawan Kannojia told that the knock of Guldar has remained in the population for a long time. Guldar has been seen many times in the roof and boundary wall of the houses. On Tuesday night, the villagers were in panic after seeing the Guldar on the roof of a house. By the time the forest personnel reached the spot after getting the information, the violent creature had disappeared. The frightened villagers told that they are raising the demand from the forest department to catch the guldar, but positive action is not being taken. In the name of security, forest personnel undertake patrolling in the evening and meet them responsibly. They argue that after getting permission from the DFO, a cage will be set up in the village to catch the Guldar. Forest Officer Mahendra Singh Rawat told that a cage will be set up on Thursday to catch the Guldar in Gulzar Farm. For the safety of life and property, patrolling of forest personnel has been increased.
