Uttarakhand : Congressmen marched to Raj Bhavan

Dehradun : The State Congress Committee has slammed the central government, accusing it of spying on former national president Rahul Gandhi and his staff, Supreme Court judges, election commissioner and many others. In protest, Congressmen marched on the Raj Bhavan on Thursday. Police already present in Hathibadkala stopped them by putting up barricades. On which Congress workers staged a sit-in on the road raising slogans against the central government. About 40 Congressmen, including several office-bearers, were arrested by the police and taken to the police lines. Where the Congressmen were released, but they staged a demonstration on the police line ground itself. Today on Thursday at around 11.30 am, the workers under the leadership of state president Pritam Singh marched to the Raj Bhavan by gathering at Dilaram Chowk. After being stopped by the police, the Congressmen sat on the road in Hathibadkala. While addressing the workers, State Congress President Pritam Singh said that various persons, journalists and human rights activists are being spied on in the country. This case is against the basic principles of democracy. He said that the central government did this unconstitutional act by buying Israeli software under the name Pegasus. This act of Modi government is unforgivable. State General Secretary Naveen Joshi said that on the call of All India Congress Committee, Congressmen across the country are not only opposing this undemocratic act of the government, but are also demanding the immediate resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah. Congressmen marched to the Raj Bhavan to demand a judicial inquiry into the matter. Party MPs, MLAs, State Congress Committee office-bearers were present in this.
