Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by eight wickets
Openers Mohammad Naeem (63 not out) and Soumya Sarkar (50) scored brilliant half-centuries and a 102-run opening partnership between them helped Bangladesh thrash Zimbabwe by eight wickets in the first T20I and 1-0 in the three-match series. took the lead.
Zimbabwe’s team was bundled out for 152 runs in 19 overs. Regis Chakabwa scored 43 runs from his side. Mustafizur Rahman took three wickets for just 31 runs for Bangladesh. Chakabwa played this brilliant innings with the help of five fours and two sixes. Mohammad Saifuddin and Shariful Islam took two wickets each.
Bangladesh secured an easy and one-sided victory by scoring 153 for two in 18.5 overs. Naeem hit six fours in his unbeaten 63 off 51 balls while Sarkar was run out for 50 off 45 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes. Captain Mahmudullah was run out for 15 while Nurul Hasan returned unbeaten on 16 off eight balls. Sarkar received the Player of the Match award.
