Rain wreaks havoc in Maharashtra, landslide in Raigad kills five, 30 still missing
Monsoon has started showing effect across the country. Heavy rain is expected in Bengal, Bihar, UP, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh for the next few days. At the same time, the havoc of rain continues in Maharashtra. Many people are trapped in the land slide. Apart from the capital Mumbai, flood situation has arisen due to heavy rains in many districts including Sangli, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Kolhapur. Many rivers of the state are also in spate. Apart from the teams of local administration, teams of Air Force and NDRF have also been deployed for relief and rescue. Train service has been disrupted on many routes due to heavy rains. At the same time, four incidents of landslides have been reported in Raigad, which has blocked the road. Raigad District Collector said that so far 15 people have been rescued by the local police while at least 30 people are still trapped inside. At the same time 5 people have died. It is worth noting that due to the heavy rains in Mumbai last Saturday, houses had collapsed at many places, due to which 30 people lost their lives.

After discussion with Thackeray, Modi tweeted, spoke to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Uddhav Thackeray and discussed the situation of heavy rains and floods in some parts of Maharashtra.
