The practice match gave India injury concerns
The warm-up match between the Indians (Indian team) and County XI here ended in a draw, but pacer Avesh Khan’s injury during the match has left Team India worrying about injury. Due to an appeal from the England Cricket Board, Avesh was representing County XI in the practice match but he was injured on the first day of the match on a shot from Hanuma Vihari. After this, Avesh could not play, after which doubts have arisen about his playing in the five-match Test series against England.
Although the Indian Cricket Board has not confirmed Avesh’s availability but it seems that his thumb injury will not resurface before the Test series.
There is also talk of injury to Washington Sundar in some media reports. However, the all-rounder, who was representing County XI in the warm-up match, walked out on the field on the final day of the match and took the catch of Mayank
Agarwal.
It is not yet confirmed whether Sandur is injured or not. India opener Shubman Gill has already been ruled out of the Test series against England due to a leg injury and has also returned home.
With Shubman and Avesh being out, India have only 22 fit players in England.
On the final day of the match, India declared their second innings at 192 for three and set County XI a target of 284 runs to win. But by the end of the day’s play, the County XI could only manage 31 runs without losing a wicket and the match ended in a draw.
