Tokyo 2020 organizers doing everything they can to give fans full enjoyment of the Games
On the eve of the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympic Games, the organizers have focused on making maximum efforts to bring all the fans to enjoy the Games.
Tokyo 2020 President Seiko Hashimoto said, “We are doing our best so that everyone can enjoy the Games. When we enter the stadium tomorrow night, we will feel the power of sports that connects people. I hope people enjoy the games.
Hashimoto revealed that nearly 2,000 spectators witnessed Wednesday’s women’s football match held in Miyagi Prefecture. He said, the Tokyo Games have been delayed by a year due to the corona epidemic. I have a mixed reaction to it. This game is going to be full of hope and will unite the world. At tomorrow’s opening ceremony, we want to do everything possible to explain the Olympic Games to the public.
Hashimoto, who was appointed as president of Tokyo 2020 in February, said, “Despite my change in role, it is my determination to make the Tokyo Games a success.” We want to solve a lot of issues and achieve success. The Tokyo Games can deliver a message of diversity and harmony. That is the value and role of sports. We want to spread this message.
Hashimoto also revealed that Tokyo Olympics 2020 opening ceremony director Kentaro Kobayashi has been sacked from the role of director of the opening ceremony following his controversial comments about the Holocaust two decades ago.
To this Hashimoto said, “How we will handle the opening ceremony is still being discussed.” Right now we are facing many challenges. Perhaps this is why these negative events will affect the messages we want to convey to the world. The value of Tokyo 2020 is still exciting and we want to send our message to the world.
