Uttarakhand / Vikas Nagar : Demand from Union Education Minister to open only in Chakrata

In order to provide quality education to the students of Jaunsar Bawar, District Panchayat President Madhu Chauhan has met the Union Education Minister and demanded opening of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chakrata. The District Panchayat President told the Union Education Minister that due to lack of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jaunsar Bawar area with a population of about two lakh, rural students are not getting English medium education. Whereas people from the economically weaker sections are unable to get their children educated in the educational institutions of the cities. Told that for the construction of Kendriya Vidyalaya, land was selected last year at Virmau Danda near Chakrata College, which has also been inspected by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. A mutual consent has also been reached among the villagers for giving land. A temporary building of fifteen rooms will also be provided for the school till the building is completed. He has demanded to start operation of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chakrata from the next academic session. Local residents Arjun Dutt Joshi, Babal Singh, Srichand Joshi, Salkaram Joshi, Dinesh Chauhan, Chunni Lal Rawat, Mukesh Joshi etc. have expressed happiness on this initiative of the District Panchayat President.
